Our doctors and technicians can answer many basic questions about your pet’s behavior. For more in depth problems, you will be referred to our practice’s canine behavior counselor, Amy Ricotta. Amy was certified in 2005 through the Association of Companion Animal Behavior Counselors and maintained her status until the organization dissolved in 2012. She is committed to attending yearly continuing education to be able to provide our clients with the latest and most effective method of behavior modification for their dogs.
Dr. Korte is a graduate of Michigan State College. He has worked in the Rochester area since the early 80’s and opened Coldwater Animal Hospital in October 1989.
I have been an associate veterinarian at Coldwater Animal Hospital since 2000. I have worked in the industry for over 15 years. I went into Veterinary Medicine because of the bond that owners have with their pets. The most rewarding part of my job us saving the life of an animal in crisis and improving their overall daily care. I share my home with my husband, Scott, our two-legged kids—Austin and Brandon—and our four-legged kids: Ranger, a Golden Retriever; Octaveus, a Border Collie; Sabre, a yellow lab; and our two cats, Guiness and Smoke.
Dr. Klovstad is our newest associate veterinary at Coldwater animal hospital.
He is originally from Minneapolis Minnesota and graduated with his veterinary degree from St. Georges University in 2012. With a strong interest in surgery he has continued since graduation with extensive additional training in surgery across the country including a research and teaching fellowship in surgery at the University of Missouri.
He lives with his two cats Penny and Sheldon and his Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever Vixen.
When he is not at work he enjoys cooking, hiking with his dog and many other outdoor activities and Scuba diving.
I’ve been with Coldwater since March 1997. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a new job when I came across the ad that combined my business management education & experience with my love of animals. How could I work anywhere else? Since then I have earned both my Veterinary Practice Manager Certification (Veterinary Hospital Manager’s Association) and Canine Behavior Counselor certification (Association of Companion Animal Behavior Counselors). I couldn’t be prouder of our clinic – I am fortunate to work with gifted, caring veterinarians and to have an amazingly dedicated support staff. The clinic has grown tremendously over the years while maintaining the feel of a small family practice. I look forward to seeing how we will progress in the future. In addition to Coldwater, I teach group fitness and have volunteered on fundraising event committees for Trillium Health (formerly AIDS Care). I have 2 kids, Joey & Elena; a Bull Terrier, Loki, a young ragdoll cat, Banksy and 2 guinea pigs, Daffodil & Daisy.
I have been working at Coldwater since January 1995. As most of you know, I enjoy being at the front desk and chatting with clients about everything from their pets to their families. I am married and the mother to 5 children (with a 13 year age gap from the oldest to youngest!!). I have always loved animals as far back as I can recall, and grew up with cats, dogs, fish and hamsters. I currently have 6 cats, 2 dogs and 2 fish. When I’m not at work or running my youngest child around for her many activities, I enjoy being outdoors, reading, family time and traveling with the family for summer vacations.
My name is Kristen, I have been in the Veterinary field for 30 years. I love working the front desk meeting new people and their pets. I have a 7 year old German Shepherd named Shade and a 11 year old cat named Zero. I do fostering for Wayne County Humane Society & Wildlife rehab. I have done Pitty rescue for over 25 years. I love my Bully breeds... In my spare time I love to camp, fish and hike... I love spending time with Shade out in the woods or on day trips all over NYS. I also just started my own photography business this summer, Specializing in animal portraits, abandon building and wildlife.
I graduated Medaille College in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology, and passed my licensing exam in 2014. I joined the Coldwater team in 2016 and am excited to learn the ropes! I have loved working with animals my entire life, and have had many pets including cows, cats, dogs, fish, goats, sheep, rabbits and turkeys.
I have been with Coldwater since January of 2014. I have worked as a kennel attendant, receptionist, exam room assistant and I am now a licensed veterinary technician. I share my home with my husband, our 5 children, 4 dogs and 6 cats. When I am not at work you can find me spending time with family and friends.
I started at Coldwater Animal Hospital in 2009 as a receptionist, I attended Medaille College and got my degree and licensure in Veterinary Technology. I went into the field of Veterinary Medicine to help animals and provide owners education on caring for their pets. The most rewarding thing about my job is seeing a new family come in with their first pet and how excited they are. I share my home with my husband, David and our two dogs – a Jack Russell terrier, Jake, and an English Mastiff, Chance, and our cat Leo Diamond. ERICA
I have been with Coldwater since 2005. I’ve been a kennel attendant, receptionist, exam room assistant and am now a licensed veterinary technician. I decided to get in to the animal field because I saw a lack in feline advocacy and wanted to provide families with the knowledge to care for their feline friends. I share my home with the best cats: Bee and Odin! When I’m not working, you can always find me at the gym.
I just recently joined the Coldwater team in July. I am enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at Medaille College and am graduating in April 2019. I have always wanted to work with animals and am glad to have found an opportunity to help provide better patient care. My main interests are in surgery and helping critical patients. I have a family dog named Sadie, a 14 year old black lab. I also have two cats of my own, Noodle and Bandit, who I love more than anything, although I’m sure I will be adding to our family soon!
I moved to Rochester from Indiana in June 2017 and joined the Coldwater family that August. I have been working in the veterinary field since 1994 and am enrolled in the Medaille Online Veterinary Technology program to finally get my degree. Working with animals has always been my passion and I love what I do, especially surgery and emergency cases. With all my years of experience, there are still new things that I am learning and enjoy that part of the job. When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy time with my family. I have 2 boys (1 in Indiana and 1 in Rochester) and share my home with my boyfriend and our 2 dogs - Zeke (golden retriever) and Blue (german shepherd/boxer) and 4 cats (Har-leigh, Marvin, Maggie and Thomas) TAYLOR
I graduated Morrisville State College in May of 2017 with an Associate's in Equine Business and Management and a Bachelor's in Equine Rehabilitation. I have worked with animals my entire life and love the atmosphere. I have many pets, including 2 cats, a dog, a snake and a horse. When I'm not working you can always find me at the barn!
Samantha is excited to join the Cold Water Animal Hospital family as she’s been caring for animals her entire life and recently decided to dedicate herself and her work to doing exactly that. After living between New York City and Turkey over the last thirteen years she’s moved to her hometown Rochester to begin what she knows will be a long and fulfilling career working with animals in need. She hopes this next chapter of her life will inch her closer to her long term goal of running her own animal sanctuary alongside her like-minded friends. She’s eager to meet and care for your fur babies, as she would her own three cats (Isabella, Mina, and Frannie) and is grateful for the chance to help in any way she can!
I’m excited to Join Coldwater Animal Hospital family as I’ve been around animals all my life, having dogs as companions almost my whole life. And having grown up in Lancaster, PA, I’ve spent a little bit of time in the barns helping to take care of farm animals growing up. Along with my wife, I have 4 sons, and we currently have 3 dogs, a Brindle Mountain Cur named Monkey, a Beagle mix named Ruby and Shih Tzu named Bailey. I welcome the opportunity to help in taking care of your furry companions and getting to know them. I have always had a great love for animals, now I get to do something with that passion.
