When a pet gets sick, they can’t tell anyone what the problem is. That is why diagnostic laboratory tests are an essential tool in determining what is ailing your pet. It allows our doctors to find the best course of treatment.

Our goal is to diagnose and treat your pet’s possible health problems quickly and accurately. By offering the latest in-house laboratory diagnostics and pathology services we are able to identify and treat medical issues before they become larger problems. These services include: blood chemistry analysis, fecal test of parasites, urine analysis, and other diagnostic tests. Results are usually available within 12 hours (frequently available while you wait!), which allows treatment to begin as soon as possible if any problems are detected.

Tests we perform include:
  • Chemistry profile
  • Endocrine profile
  • Hematology
  • Urology (including in-house culture)
  • Cytopathology
  • Intestinal and hematologic parasite evaluation
Our laboratory is staffed by a team of specially trained vet technicians capable of processing and interpreting laboratory tests quickly and accurately. When more in depth testing is necessary, your pet’s samples can be taken in our office and overnighted to our reference laboratory, results are usually received within 12-24 hours.

Digital x-rays allow our veterinarians to easily gather and view important information regarding your pet’s bone structure, lungs, heart and other organs. Radiographs are an important diagnostic tool for identifying the location of fractures, pinpointing the size and location of growths and tumors, spotting the signs of heart disease and more.

Our facility is equipped with a high quality digital radiograph machine and processor which enables us to view x-rays within minutes. Since digital x-rays can be saved on a computer, it is easy to email them to outside specialists if we need to obtain a second opinion or referral. X- rays may be saved to a disk and given to you. In addition, because no harsh chemicals are needed, we are able to produce high quality images with maximum safety for your pet.

Our digital radiography system allows us to immediately assess your pet’s xrays and to easily send them off to a specialist if necessary.

Ultrasound technologies are non-invasive and use sound waves to painlessly examine internal organs. There is no radiation exposure to the patient during an ultrasound. An ultrasound provides us with real-time diagnostics and images, so we can examine the structure and movement of your pet’s internal organs, as well as blood flow. This procedure is used to examine the heart and abdominal organs. Using a small transducer (probe) and ultrasound gel placed directly on the skin, the transducer uses sound waves to create an image. In addition, echiocardiograms can be performed in our office and referred to a board certified cardiologist for interpretation.
